“Museums inspire future generations to military service and commemorate the ascendance of our great democracy.”
Spencer Wilcox
As a Navy veteran, aviator and reservist, I have always found military museums to be an amazing tool to capture the continuity between contemporary service and the legacy of our forebears who made such great sacrifices in defense of our constitution and way of life. The opportunity to celebrate our heritage in the form of these tangible displays, provides us all with the sense of obligation we have to those who came before us, both civilian and service member alike. Museums like the Naval Aviation Museum in Pensacola, the United States Naval Academy Museum in Annapolis, and the National World War II Museum in New Orleans, inspire future generations to military service and commemorate the ascendance of our great democracy, which was facilitated, in large part, by our Armed Forces.
