Proposed “Explore America” tax credit

From ThriftyTraveler.com:

the U.S. Travel Association has proposed the “Explore America” Tax Credit, allowing travelers to deduct 50% of their eligible travel expenses within the U.S. for a total of up to $4,000 per household. What would make the cut for your tax credit? The travel association says “any expense over $50 that is incurred while traveling away from home in the U.S.,” including meals, lodging, recreation, transportation, entertainment, gasoline, and more.

We’re for it.

And so is Arizona Senator Martha McSally, who introduced this as legislation today, just before President Trump’s planned visit to Arizona.

Per Bloomberg’s Steven T. Dennis, it’s called the American TRIP Act:

American

Tax

Rebate

and

Incentive

Program

Act.

As in, take A TRIP.

Hard to imagine anything that could help top military travel destinations more.
